12:43 pm Why, for the love of God, would they make a sequel to Baby Geniuses? I bet Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 will be beat the original's 29th place in the bottom 100 on IMDB.

10:40 pm I went to the Kerry/Edwards rally on Saturday. I arrived around 2:30.
Someone told me that Kerry and Edwards were going to start speaking
around 3:00. That turned out to be a dirty, dirty lie. They were
actually just arriving at RDU at 3:00. Grrr.
On the positive side, by arriving a bit early I secured a prime viewing
location near the edge of the fenced pen that partitioned the crowd
into three sections. I couldn't have asked for a better place to see
the backs of the people in the middle section, who were all bastards
for having special tickets that let them get near the stage.
Since temperatures were in the mid-nineties, I took a water bottle and
drank like a sailor. Except I wasn't getting drunk. The Kerry
campaign provided lots water for everyone to drink, so I refilled my bottle a few times. By 4:00, I had to piss like a water buffalo. All of the
traditional urination avoidance methods were employed. Some rather
mediocre local Democratic speakers fumbled their way through their
uninspired remarks. They provided very little distraction from my
swelling bladder, which was the size of a cantaloupe, I'm sure.
One speaker tried to get the crowd to yell, "We want Kerry, we want
Edwards." The result was pretty weak. The crowd around me was the loudest when the person using the microphone wasn't speaking loud
enough. "We can't hear" and "Turn it up" were easily some of the most
enthusiastic chants. I attempted to escape the human sardine can that
had me trapped, keeping me from the sweet relief of a port-a-john.
While Teresa Heinz Kerry spoke, I pushed my way though the crowd with,
"Excuse me," "Pardon me," and "I'm sorry, was that your foot?"
After at least two solid minutes of pissing, I was ready to listen to
Edwards and Kerry speak. They did a pretty good job, and the crowd
responded very favorably. I held the campaign-provided "Kerry/Edwards a
Stronger America" sign and cheered. Some guy offered to buy my sign,
but the volunteer that gave it to me clearly intended me to have it, so
I politely declined with, "No, it's mine."
The rally ended just as thunderstorms rolled in. Overall it was a
positive experience. I have some photos that I'll post later.
Next came dinner with elliot, slack, and hunter. I ate too much sushi. slack suggested that we go to see The Day After Tomorrow. Wow, what an awful movie. The "science" was totally unbelievable. I am Jack's shameful movie suggestion casualty.
I just saw a midget biker with a Mohawk on The Discovery Channel. He was dancing next to his Harley.
That is all.

05:38 pm Egad, what's this? A journal entry from Matt? No, this isn't the seventh sign. "But Matt, didn't you say you were too private to write a public journal?" you ask. Well, I guess not. Besides, everyone else is doing it. Right?
It seems that my house has attracted millipedes. There aren't too many, and those that have found their way inside seem to die quite quickly.
I decided to start going to the gym again. My first day back was Wednesday, and I've made it in every day since.
